1. Using Our Website
By accessing our website (scarboroughwellness.com), you agree to use it in a lawful, respectful, and responsible way.
This means you will not:
Misuse the website or its content
Attempt to gain unauthorised access
Use the site in a way that may harm others or the organisation
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. Continued use of the website means you accept any updates.
2. Our Services & Professional Scope
Scarborough Wellness CIC offers a range of holistic wellbeing sessions, workshops, events, and community activities designed to support overall wellbeing.
Scarborough Wellness CIC reserves the right to refuse, pause, or discontinue any wellness morning, session, event, workshop, retreat, or service if, in their professional judgement, it is not suitable, safe, or appropriate to continue.
Scarborough Wellness CIC works within the scope of holistic wellbeing practice and does not:
Diagnose medical or psychological conditions.
Prescribe medication, substances, or medical treatments.
Interfere with care provided by licensed medical professionals.
Replace medical, psychiatric, or emergency services.
Participants are encouraged to seek advice from a GP or licensed healthcare professional for physical or mental health concerns.
Participant / Customer Understanding & Consent
Clients and participants understand that:
Wellness mornings, holistic sessions and events are complementary and not a substitute for medical or psychological care.
Sessions aim to support relaxation, balance, reflection, and overall wellbeing.
Outcomes vary between individuals, and no guarantees can be offered.
3. Booking & Participation
By booking or attending any session or event, you confirm that you:
Understand the nature of holistic wellbeing practices.
Are choosing to participate voluntarily.
Feel able to take part in the activities offered.
Our sessions may include:
Meditation and mindfulness practices.
Gentle movement or relaxation exercises like Yoga or Tai Chi.
Group discussions or shared spaces.
Outdoor activities such as walks.
Reflective or emotionally supportive practices.
We aim to create a welcoming and accessible environment, but participation is always your choice and responsibility.
4. Health Declaration, Waiver & Personal Responsibility
By attending any wellness morning, session, event, wellbeing fayre, talk, workshop, walk, retreat, or anything else hosted by Scarborough Wellness CIC, you confirm that:
You take full responsibility & accountability for your own physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
You will disclose any relevant medical conditions, injuries, medications, or support needs in advance.
You participate voluntarily, at your own risk, and confirm that you are physically and mentally fit to participate.
You understand that activities may include gentle movement, meditation, mindfulness, holistic therapy, outdoor walking, emotional reflection, or group settings.
You understand that holistic practices, outdoor environments, group work, and reflective or spiritual experiences may involve inherent risks, including physical, emotional, or environmental factors.
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Scarborough Wellness CIC shall not be held liable for any loss, injury, illness, or damage arising from participation, except where caused by proven negligence.
5. Safeguarding
Scarborough Wellness CIC is committed to providing safe, respectful, and inclusive spaces for all.
Safeguarding is taken seriously, particularly in relation to adults who may be vulnerable due to age, disability, illness, mental health challenges, trauma, or personal circumstances.
Scarborough Wellness CIC:
Daniel Le Fey Holmes & Kate Stancombe hold current DBS checks.
Is fully insured through Ansvar Insurance.
Maintains clear professional boundaries.
Works ethically, respectfully, and with care at all times.
If a safeguarding concern arises, it will be handled sensitively and appropriately. Where required, concerns may be shared with relevant authorities to protect individuals at risk.
Confidentiality may be broken if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others or where disclosure is required by law.
6. Children & Young People
Unless clearly stated otherwise, sessions, workshops, holistic therapies, retreats, courses and events offered by Scarborough Wellness CIC are designed for adults aged 18 and over.
Children and young people under 18 may only attend where the event has been explicitly advertised as suitable for them and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
Parents and guardians remain fully responsible for the safety, supervision, and wellbeing of their child throughout the event.
Scarborough Wellness CIC does not provide childcare services and does not accept responsibility for unsupervised minors.
7. Respect & Behaviour
We aim to create a space where everyone feels welcome, safe, and valued.
We ask all participants to:
Treat others with kindness and respect.
Honour personal boundaries.
Be mindful of different experiences and perspectives.
Keep shared personal information confidential.
If behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful, we may ask you to leave the session or event. In these situations, refunds may not be offered.
8. Events, Workshops & Outdoor Activities
When attending events, you are responsible for your own comfort and preparation.
This includes:
Wearing appropriate clothing and footwear.
Bringing water or anything you may need.
Taking care in outdoor or unfamiliar environments.
Outdoor sessions will usually go ahead unless conditions are considered unsafe.
We are not responsible for:
Attendance is at your own risk.
Personal belongings.
Loss or damage.
Injuries unless caused by negligence.
9. Paid Events & Retreats
Some events and retreats require advance booking and payment.
Please note:
Full payment may be required to secure your place
Payments, including deposits are non-refundable due to planning and limited spaces
If we cancel an event, a full refund or alternative option will be offered
Unless stated otherwise, travel, accommodation, and personal insurance remain your responsibility.
10. Community Spaces at Wellness Mornings
We may offer group spaces, both online and in person, to support connection.
Within these spaces:
Confidentiality is essential
Personal stories should not be shared outside the group
Respectful communication is expected
We reserve the right to remove access if these guidelines are not respected.
11. Spiritual & Reflective Content
Some sessions may include reflective, creative, or spiritual elements.
These are offered as the following:
Tools for personal growth and exploration
Optional experiences within a safe environment
They are not a replacement for therapy, counselling, or medical care.
12. Animals & Dogs Policy
Unless clearly stated in the event description, wellness mornings, workshops, retreats, events and sessions are not animal-friendly environments.
We adore animals; however, this policy protects participants with allergies, phobias, or additional needs and ensures a calm and safe group space in line with venue and insurance requirements.
Registered assistance dogs are welcome where legally required. Please notify Scarborough Wellness CIC in advance so appropriate arrangements can be considered.
If an animal is brought to a session that has not been advertised as animal-friendly, you may be asked to remove the animal from the venue. If this is not possible, you may be unable to participate, and a refund will not be issued.
13. Photography & Media
We may occasionally take photos or videos during events for promotional use.
By attending, you consent to this unless you let us know beforehand. We will always aim to use images respectfully.
14. Privacy & Data Protection
We take your privacy seriously. All personal data is handled in accordance with UK GDPR regulations.
Information is kept confidential and never shared without consent unless legally required.
